(a) Please setup the email on your smart phone using the email address as the user name and the password provided.

 

(b) Most mobile devices have the same settings as in the instructions below. Please read through this document first before attempting setup.

 

(c) SSL Certificate Clients must read Chapter 4 of this manual.


1. Existing Email Account Setup:

In Microsoft Outlook:

1.1   Go to the File Menu.

1.2   Click on Account Settings.

1.3   Select the account you need to configure and click on CHANGE.

1.4   At Incoming and Outgoing Mail Server:

       (a) Change the name of the Incoming and Outgoing Mail Servers to {mail.your domain name.co.za}


1.5   At Login Information:

       (a) Change the User Name to your email address and insert the password we have provided.

       (b) Click on More Settings to continue


1.6   On Outgoing Server

1.6.1 Ensure that the following boxes are checked:

        (a) My outgoing server(SMTP)….

        (b) Use same settings as my incoming mail server

 

1.7   Click on the Advanced Tab:

1.7.1 You can use one of the following ports on Outgoing Server SMTP:

        (a) 25 or 26 or 587 – We recommended 25

 

1.7.2  At Delivery:

        (a) Un-tick “Remove from server after…”

        (b) Tick “Remove from server…”

        (c) Click on OK and Next to complete setup


2. Automatic Email Account Setup:

In Microsoft Outlook:

2.1   Go to the File Menu.

2.2   Click on Add Account.

2.3   Insert your name, email address, the password and click on Next.

2.4   Outlook will automatically set up an IMAP email account for you.

 

3. Manual Email Account Setup: Non SSL

3.1   Select the “Manually configure settings” option and click on Next.

3.2   Internet E-mail must be selected. Click on Next.

3.3   Insert your account details,  ensure that POP3 is selected:

3.3.1 Server Information:

       (a) The Incoming and Outgoing mail server will be set up with mail.{your domain name}

 

3.3.2 Logon Information:

        (a) The User Name will be your email address.

        (b) Insert the password provided.


3.4   Click on More Settings and insert your details on the General Tab.

3.5   Click on the Advanced Tab:

3.5.1 You can use one of the following ports on Outgoing Server SMTP:

        (a) 25 or 26 or 587 – We recommended 25


3.5.2 At Delivery:

       (a) Un-tick “Remove from server after…”

       (b) Tick “Remove from server…”

       (c) Click on OK and Next to complete setup.

 

4. Manual Email Account Setup: With SSL

4.1   Select the “Manually configure settings” option and click on Next.

4.2   Internet E-mail must be selected. Click on Next.

4.3   Insert your account details,  ensure that POP3 is selected:

4.3.1 Server Information:

       (a) The Incoming and Outgoing mail server will be set up with {mail.your domain name}


4.3.2 Logon Information:

        (a) The User Name will be your email address.

        (b) Insert the password provided.

 

4.4 Click on More Settings and insert your details on the General Tab.

4.4.1 Click on the Advanced Tab:

       (a) Click on “This server requires an encrypted connection (SSL)”. Notice that the Incoming server port changes to 995.

       (b) Change the Outgoing Server SMTP to 465.


4.4.2 At Delivery:

       (a) Un-tick “Remove from server after…”

       (b) Tick “Remove from server…”

       (c) Click on OK and Next to complete setup.


5. Mobile Phone Setup (basic): Android Phones

If you have purchased SSL then you will use POP3 over SSL


5.1  Make sure you have the following information:

      (a) Your email address – i.e. james@yourdomain.co.za

      (b) Password – (use password provided)

      (c) Username Internet must be set up before you start this guide. – i.e. james@yourdomain.co.za


5.2   Select Apps

5.3   Select Email

5.4   Enter your Email address and Password. Select Next

       (a) Email address - james@yourdomain.co.za

       (b) Password – (use password provided)


5.5   Select POP3 (Incoming Server):

        (a) Enter Username  - james@yourdomain.co.za

        (b) Incoming server address. – mail.{yourdomain}.co.za

        (c) Port stays 25 (SSL Port 993)

        (c) For SSL choose “SSL Accept All Certificates”

        (d) Select Next

 

5.6   SMTP - Outgoing Server:

        (a) Enter Outgoing server address – mail.{yourdomain}.co.za

        (b) Port stays 25 (SSL Port 465)

        (c) User Name: james@yourdomain.co.za

        (d) Password: (use password provided)

 

5.7   Uncheck the Require sign-in. checkbox and select Next

5.8   Select Next

5.9  Give your account a name and enter your name. Select Next

       (a) Account name - james@yourdomain.co.za

       (b) Your name - james@yourdomain.co.za

 

5.10  Your account is ready to use

6. Configuration for iPhones with iOS 7 and newer

        Requirements:

      Before you start, you'll need the following:

       (a) Your email address: user@{yourdomain).com

          Tip: The email address will always be your use name.

      (a) Your email password.

      (b) Choose IMAP if you want to check the account on multiple computers or mobile devices.

      (c) POP downloads the messages locally to your computer/device.

          Tip: Choose POP for this setup

 
6.1   From the Home screen, choose Settings.

        (a) Next, tap Mail, Contacts, Calendars.

        (b) In the Accounts section, tap Add Account.


6.2   Choose your email account type. For setting up email to work with your (mt) Media Temple service, choose “Other”.

6.3   Select Add Mail Account under the Mail section. 

6.4   Enter your account information. 

6.5   On the next screen, enter your DV account details.

6.6   Incoming Mail Server: (Port 110) (995 for SSL)

       (a) Host Name: {yourdomain}.com
       (b) User Name: john@{youdomain}.com
       (c) Password: Please contact us if you do not know your password.

6.7   Outgoing Mail Server (SMTP) (Ports 25, 26 or 587) (465 for SSL)

         Tip: Use Port 25 for this setup
         
(a) Host Name: {yourdomain}.com 
         
(b) User Name: john@{youdomain}.com 
         
(c) Password: Please contact us if you do not know your password. 

6.7.1 Once the email configuration is added, tap Next to continue.

6.7.2 Choose what information you want to sync with your phone
        and tap Save to save the entered information.

6.8   Your iPhone will then verify your account information. 


6.9   Upon successful completion, you will be taken back to the Mail screen.

6.10  Your account will now be listed in the Accounts section.

 
              TIP: (IMAP Setup Only)

                If you are experiencing any difficulty with syncing your messages,

                you can manually configure the folders.

                Here's how:

                Select your newly created account and enter the Advanced section.

                Change your IMAP Path Prefix from / to "INBOX:".


                In this screen, you can also choose the Drafts, Sent, and Deleted folders on the server.

                This way your folders will be in sync no matter where or how you access your email.

                Just choose each Mailbox on the same Advanced screen and select the matching folder

                on the server.

7.     Remote Support via an Internet Connection:

7.1   Ensure that you are connected to the internet on the PC/notebook where you need the email account set up.

7.2   Click on the link below and download the TeamViewerQS application.

       http://www.teamviewer.com/en/download/windows.aspx

7.3   Safe the TeamViewerQS application to your Desktop and ensure that it’s not deleted in future.

7.4   Open the TeamViewerQS application.

7.5 Email the I.D. and password to support@bashosting.co.za.
